You might know the Bolero from the movie Brief Encounter. In this movie, the Bolero is preformed by a piano trio. (If you’re a fan of comic films: skip this one.)

The Bolero was composed by Moritz Moskowski (1854 – 1925) as one of his Spanish Dances. Moskowski used to be a successful composer, and competent player of the piano and violin.

The piece is arranged for string quartet by Arjan van der Boom. It is a dynamic piece that should be played with panache Spanish.

The arrangement consists of a score, parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola and cello. (The viola part is also provided as a version for violin).
